Thanksgiving.

We had a great Thanksgiving Weekend with both families.  As tradition would have it, we spent Thanksgiving Day with the Clemmer's and Jones'.  Their annual dinner consists of Fajitas and all the fixin's.  Of course, this year was extra special because it was Lucas' and Preston's first Thanksgiving.  Here are a few photos of our get together with the Clemmer's/Jones':

Gran + Grandpa trying to get Lucas to eat.

On Friday, we spent the day with my family and had more of a traditional meal.  We look forward to my mom's Thanksgiving Meal every year!  Yummy.  Chris, Megan + Brady joined us.  It was fun having everyone together.  It's been a while since we all got a chance to hang out.  Here are a few pictures from the Reed celebration:

Homemade Baby Food.

think Lucas is starting to get this eating thing down.  Although I know he would rather stick to milk the rest of his life.  He doesn't know what he is missing.  A few weeks ago, we posted him eating cereal.  And although he hasn't really mastered that yet (some babies don't), I decided to try him on some vegetables.

I remember registering for our wedding a few years ago and seeing the Beaba Baby Food Maker.  I told Casey, when we have a kid I am registering for that!  Needless to say, I got one and finally put it to use.  It was so easy.  Eat your heart out Gerber!

 Green Beans.
They steam and puree all in the same bowl!
 Yummy!  Green Beans.  Not.
 Sweet Potatoes steaming.
 Now this looks good!
Then you place them in the container to freeze.
When it's time to feed Luke, I just pop one out, heat and serve.

Lucas made some funny and not so funny faces when I tried to feed him a little bit today.  Is it normal for babies to not like food initially?  Luke has to keep up on his eating or he will lose the "chubby baby award" that everyone gives him.  I mean everyone - strangers and all - have no problem telling me how my baby never misses a meal.  I just tell them I make ice cream instead of milk!

Backyard Photo Shoot(s): I, II + III

When Lucas was three weeks old, I took him out back and did my first "photo shoot" with him.  Gran Clemmer was staying with me at the time; she and I had such a blast.  Our hearts melted every time he made a move or sound.  He was so little and so precious.

For some reason, those photos never made it to the blog.  Probably b/c I was so sleep deprived.  Here are just a few of my favorites:

We used this one for our birth announcement.

I can't believe he ever fit in this tub.

Boy! has Lucas changed in just the first 6 months of his life.  He is finally fitting into some of the cute outfits people gave us along the way.  I did another photo shoot with him a few weeks ago b/c he just looked so cute.  Not that I really ever need a reason to take photos of him.

Over head shot of Big Boy sitting up.
He loved the feeling of the grass.
I love his little feet + love to put him in cute socks.
He is very serious like his mom + dad.
Luke is very close to crawling.  I loved this shot.

And now with the holidays right around the corner, I am working on Lucas' first Christmas card.  Here is just a "tease" of the photo shoot we did a few days ago.

Keep your eye out for our Christmas Card this year!

Lucas' First Halloween.

Every year we celebrate Halloween at my brother's house.  Megan's family has had a long running tradition where the ENTIRE family dresses up as the same theme.  This year:  Rock-n-Roll.  It being Lucas' first year, we decided to go with something softer for him:  a monkey.

Casey + I call him "monkey", among other things, so it only seemed fitting.  He made a really cute monkey if I might say so myself.

Luke before his monkey suit went on.
Monkey!
The tail on the suit was my favorite part.

And b/c I know you are dying to see what everyone else was dressed up as:

 Setrum Family:
IS (rapper) - Delaney
Batman - Kent
Handy Manny - Jackson
Princess - Gretchen
Malory - Kesha

Reed Family:
Kid Rock - Chris
Madonna - Megan
Superman - Brady

Kiss - Sutton's

Sharon + Ozzy Osborne - Reed's

Sonny + Cher - Clemmer's
