A Thing Called THREAD.

Have you heard?  I own a store.  Co-own a store.  It's called Thread.  It is the brainchild of my longtime friend Kari.  She and I have known each other since 4th grade.  We went to UT together, majored in the same degree and worked at the same store.  We should have known then we were destined to start a business together.

In October Kari texted me and that she was going to call me the next day to discuss a business idea.  That was a Monday.  We had lunch that Tuesday and by Friday we had sent out an email announcing we had a stylish kids' consignment store.  With in weeks, we had people consigning clothes with us.  By November we had a Open House that was a huge success.  Fast forward to mid January.  We have a "mini-store" out of Kari's Garage Apartment with tons of clothes, books and toys.  And starting in March, we will have a store front on one of the most popular streets in Houston.

We have no idea, really, what we have gotten ourselves into.  But we are very excited.  The kids' clothes are so adorable and practically brand new.  Everyone has nothing but positive things to say about the concept, the store and our vision.  We have lots of hard work ahead of us.  But March 5th, we will open the doors and hope to see this small business take off!  It's amazing how quickly things have happened in just 5 short months.

Baby Lucas: 10 Months Old.

Baby boy is just creeping closer to his 1st birthday + I can hardly stand it.  I had some down time at work the other day, so took cute boy outside and took some photos.  He just loves the sunlight!

A Day at the Park.

After church on Sunday, we took Luke to the park near our house.  I have been taking Luke to the park probably since he was 4 or 5 months old.  This is probably the first time I have witnessed him enjoying himself - he was laughing and smiling the whole time.

It did my heart good to be in the warm sun with my boys!

Hello Mr. Sunshine!

I think it's safe to say it has been a cold winter all over the country and Houston is no exception.  The sun finally showed its face the other day, so I took Luke outside to sit in the grass.  Of course that meant he had to eat the grass, but what are you gonna do?  I will tell you what i did - stuck a paci in it!  It's hard to to eat something when your mouth is occupied!

He is no longer a baby.

Baby Landon.

Cousin Jenni + Baby Landon were in our neck of the woods on Wednesday.  Baby Landon had a doctor's appointment.  So we snuck in a quick lunch at the mall with them.  Baby Landon is so sweet, so alert and so big already.

Super Bowl Sunday.

We went to Grandma's + Papa's house for the Super Bowl.  

Cousin Brady joined us b/c his parents were in Dallas at the game.

Must be nice, huh?

Napping...Big Boy Style.

Luke is definitely cutting back on his naps.  So when he starts to look like he is getting sleepy, we take advantage of it.  Here is big boy napping in our bed with my body pillow from pregnancy.  Casey put him in this so he would fall asleep ... and I had to take a picture.  I could just eat him up!  Never mind how big he looks at this angle!!

New Year's Eve w/ Ben + Melissa.

I got to see my long time friend Melissa, her husband Ben and their little boy Dash over the Christmas holiday.  Casey + I even got to go out to dinner with Ben + Mel for New Year's Eve.  Casey + I never go out on NYE.  It was a real treat and so much fun.  Melissa was 5 months pregnant with baby girl at the time.  An adorable pregnant girl she is!  So much fun getting to see you guys over some "grown up" talk.  We hope to come see you and the new addition in San Fran soon.

Baby Lucas: 9 mo old.

Can you believe Luke is 9 months old?  Me either!  Where has the time gone?  I know I haven't slept through the last nine months!  I look like I haven't slept in years.  But he is sooooo cute and soooo worth it.

Our pediatrician from birth moved in November, so I have been contemplating on whether to drive the 20 minutes to their new office (they were 5 minutes away) or find someone else closer.  Being the person that doesn't like to drive, I felt more comfortable finding someone close in the event that we might need the doctor in an emergency.  One less thing to stress about.

So we found a new doctor and Luke had his check-up a few days ago.  We liked her and she is associated with Memorial Hermann - where I gave birth - and attached to the hospital closest to our house.

Luke is in to everything.  He is crawling - fast.  He is standing up on his own.  He is fearless and falls often.  He cruises on the furniture and I honestly believe he thinks he can walk.  He is very brave!
