Lucas turned 3 months yesterday. And last night Casey and I "tested" the waters to see how he would do sleeping in his own room. He is getting so long that when he rolls around in the pack-n-play he hits the walls and wakes himself up. So I thought he might get a better night sleep in his own bed. Not to mention we might get a better night sleep too!
There were tears - none of which were Lucas'. He was oblivious. He was out after eating around 9.30 PM and didn't make a peep until almost 4 AM. After changing a very wet diaper at 4 AM he slept until 6 AM.
I would say he looks pretty happy this morning.

Baby Lucas: 3 months old
Lucas doesn't have another check up at the doctor until next month so we don't know his "status" for sure. But when I weighed him last week he was 13.25 lbs and approximately 25 in long.

DIY Project
Today I recalled a conversation I had with my friend Mel while I was pregnant. I remember telling her I couldn't wait for maternity leave to start b/c I had so many projects I wanted to start. I also remember her laughing saying she said the same thing when she had baby Dash, but informed me that I won't have as much time on your hands as I think. Boy was she right!
My list keeps growing. I have yet to start (let alone finish) a single project on my list so far. Last week I did take before pictures of the project that is first on my list. Unfortunately, it has been raining every afternoon in Houston, therefore, working outside is not an option.
These pieces were actually part of the packaging that helped protect Lucas' dresser/changing table. I didn't want to throw them away b/c I felt like they could be used to make something cool. The possibilities are endless, but I think I have decided what I will turn these into. What do you think I am going to do with these? Stay tuned to find out...

Smiling.
Lucas is smiling a lot more lately.
This morning instead of going right to sleep after feeding, he and I hung out.
He even attempted to talk to me some in between smiling.
I grabbed the camera and got the pictures above.
We love this little guy!

So while trying to figure out this whole "motherhood" thing, I have also been thinking about what I am going to do when I grow up. As most of you know the company I worked for, MilkShop.com, decided to close its doors while I was on maternity leave. My last official day with the company was in June. So now I am faced with the decision on whether to try to stay home with Lucas - which I would love - or find another job. The problem is I don't really know what I would want to do. My position at MilkShop.com was ideal and I sort of hoped that that would be the last job I would have. God had different plans for me. I would like to think He wanted my last job to be a mom.The Complete Idiot's Guide to Graphic Design by Marjorie Crum + Marcia Layton Turner,

Having always wanted to be my own boss, I realize this is the best time to explore that option. I know so many talented, creative and eager ladies that I would love to collaborate with. I have several ideas (I use that term loosely) up my sleeve, but nothing concrete. I decided to do some light reading on the subject in between feeding Lucas, changing diapers and taking care of the Clemmer Casa. That is easier said then done. Lucas is my main priority right now and I don't seem to find time to do anything else. I am trying to get us all on a schedule so I can find a little time for myself to either find another job or to get my creative juices flowing.
I know God puts your desires in your heart - he knew I wanted to be a stay at home mom. I am hoping he can guide and direct me on this next path. Stay tuned...

4th of July.
We had a great time celebrating Lucas' first 4th of July with family. My parents were kind enough to host Casey, Lucas + I along with Gran, Grandpa, Heath, April + Preston at their house for BBQ. We had the yummiest food ever and of course took some pictures of our baby boys.
