Like Father, Like Son.

When we found out we were having a boy Momma Kay, aka Gran, gave us a bunch of stuff she had saved from when Casey was a baby.  She also gave us some pictures of Casey as a baby so we could compare Lucas as he began to grow.  It truly is amazing how much Lucas looks like his daddy.

Lucas was not feeling this outfit at all!  I don't blame him.  Today's onesies are much softer than those of the 70s that is for sure.  Pretty adorable still to see Casey in Lucas.  And even more adorable that Momma Kay kept that outfit.

G-O-A-L!

Unless you live under a rock, you are fully aware that the World Cup is going on right now.  We have soccer on our TV downstairs 24/7.  I sound like I am complaining, but I have actually gotten into it.  I probably bug Casey with all my questions never having watched the sport myself.  Casey on the other hand is remembering his glory days.  He is teaching Lucas and I all about the rules.  It is pretty adorable actually.  Here are a few shots of my boys during the USA game on Saturday.

Thank God it is over next week. I mean really... a month long sporting event.  Is that really necessary?  See you in 4 years World Cup when Lucas will be all about watching it with his daddy.

Play date w/ Preston + David.

We had an play date with cousin Preston and cousin David.  It was fun to have a full house and have lunch with the ladies.  Corrie + Baby David were in from Canada, so Aunt Martha brought them over to join us along with Gran, Pam, Aunt April + Preston for lunch.  It was amazing to see how much Baby David has grown.  April + I got a taste of what it will be like to have a 1 year old running around the house.  They sure grow up fast!

Casey's First Father's Day!

Casey celebrated his first Father's Day.  He is such a great daddy + I just love watching him with Lucas.  We had two different celebrations.  On Saturday we celebrated with my Dad + Mom @ one of our favorite restaurants:  Nino's.  Lucas did pretty well at dinner, but it is definitely an experience having a nice dinner with a newborn.  Here are a few pics from the night:

On Sunday, Gran + Grandpa Clemmer came over for some lunch to help us celebrate.  The men enjoyed grilling while Gran + I loved on Lucas.  Of course we took some more pictures:

Happy Father's Day.

On Sunday morning - Father's Day -  we woke up and enjoyed a cup of coffee out back in our new hammock.  We actually got the hammock on our honeymoon, but just now got around to putting it up.  I was able to get some great shots of Lucas and Casey hanging out on their first Father's Day.  We are really trying to treasure all of these special moments and what better way than with a camera.  I think we might take too many pictures, but I don't want to regret not having any of Lucas growing up.

A week or so ago we posted a video of Lucas rolling over.  Below are the still shots of him in action as well as a few photos of him holding his head up and being so alert.  He is almost 2 months old and growing up so fast.  We are looking forward to getting his new "stats" next week at his appointment.

Video: Lucas Rolling Over @ 6 Weeks!

We are very proud of Luke! At 5 weeks he appeared to roll over all on his own. We didn't notify the press at this point in fear it was just a fluke. So when he did it again on camera a week later we knew we had a "special" little man on our hands.

Below are two different clips of him rolling over. Thanks to Gran + Grandpa Clemmer for getting us the camcorder for Christmas. We are so glad Casey got this on camera.

Lucas continues to steal our hearts and impress us each and every day.

A Visit w/ Grandma + Papa.

Lucas enjoyed a quick visit with Grandma + Papa the other weekend.  It is definitely summer in Houston already - reaching mid 90s today - but a few weekends ago it was actually nice enough to sit outside and enjoy my parent's backyard.  Lucas joined us over a glass of wine and some fresh air.  

Both Grandma + Papa love our little man.  How could they not!  He is so yummy.

Baby Lucas: 7 weeks old

Lucas continues to grow before my eyes.  It is hard to believe he will be 7 weeks tomorrow.  At 6 weeks he was weighing in at 10 lbs.  At Luke's initial doctors appointment the doctor was concerned with his slow weight gain.  I should say he seems to have the eating thing down now.  His 2 month appointment is in a few weeks.  We are curious how much he will weigh by then and can only hope the doctor will be satisfied with his progress.

His favorite "toy" right now is his lamb swing.  The mobile above him can entertain him for some time.  I was able to get a few shots of him watching the mobile go around.  Doesn't he look like he is having so much fun!  If babies could talk...I wonder what Luke would be saying!
